Zariq Mohd Ali, Malaysia’s First Master Model Builder at Legoland Malaysia
ISKANDAR PUTERI, 4 November 2024 – The arrival of a new creative force has ushered in an exciting new age of play, inspiration, and innovation at LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort! Kuala Lumpur native Zariq Mohd Ali, 30, is the first Master Model Builder from Malaysia, and LEGOLAND Malaysia couldn’t be happier to announce it. After a nationwide search for the best LEGO® talent in Malaysia, Zariq stood out as the perfect candidate for this exceptionally significant position thanks to his exceptional skills, creative vision, and lifetime devotion to the brand.
With his creative vision and mesmerising constructions, Zariq is poised to motivate families and kids of all ages, and his appointment is a significant next step in LEGOLAND Malaysia’s mission to provide visitors with exceptional experiences. Zariq will be leading interactive play sessions, creating breathtaking LEGO models for the park, and delivering workshops to bring the beauty of LEGO to life in new ways at the resort.
Zariq said, “This is truly my dream job!” when asked about becoming the first Master Model Builder in Malaysia. For as long as I can remember, LEGO has never left my side. One of the few constants in my childhood was LEGOs, since my family moved around quite a bit. This is a once in a lifetime chance for me to spread the joy of LEGOs to other people. I can’t wait to start working with LEGOS and share the happiness that the toy has brought me with the children that visit LEGOLAND Malaysia.
LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort’s Divisional Director CS Lim expressed his excitement about Zariq’s new role as the park’s first Master Model Builder, saying, “We’re happy to welcome Zariq to the team! We received an abundance of imaginative and skilled builders in answer to our advertisement. In addition to his role as Master Model Builder, Zariq will act as an ambassador for LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort by contributing to the development, production, and hosting of new and exciting events, as well as by producing entertaining and informative content for social media.

- Globetrotter: Born in France, Zariq has lived in multiple countries around the world, including Mexico, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand, before settling down in Malaysia.
- Multilingual Expert: Hello, Apa Khabar, Bonjour, Ni Hao, Hola! Zariq speaks five languages – he’s fluent in English, Malay and French, and has conversational-level Chinese and Spanish.
- Beyond the Builds: He’s a former Business Development manager and holds a degree in International Relations and Economics.
- Inspired by Travel: His childhood fueled a passion for travel, which inspired his Master Model Builder submission – a Skyline Build featuring some of his favourite cities around the world!
