Tom Yam Prawn Boat Noodle RM1.90

This bowl is with glass noodle. Mr. Ang and I prefer the boat noodle with glass nodle. It has smooth and chewy texture. The soup based is very sour and spicy. Truly live up to its Thai cuisine culture.

I miss this dish very mush. The mango must be fresh and sweet to capture the diner’s heart

Different tools were given for Tom Yam Gung Lobster Noodle. A bowl of Lobster Noodle can share between 2 to 3 persons.

The tools are used to separate the big bowl of noodle into small bowl.

Tom Yum Gung Lobster Noodle RM89.90

The restaurant manager, Ms. Lee mentioned that lobster noodle is limited supply. The restaurant only served 20 bowls of lobster noodle. If the supply of seafood isn’t fresh that day, the chef will not serve it.  It is best to make reservation for this dish. Thus, diners get to enjoy the freshness of the seafood.

The noodle was served in smaller portion.

Addition to it, diners may need to wait for 20 to 25 minutes for this dish. The chef may need time to prepare the delicious dish. Tom Yum Soup is unlimited supply. If you wish to have more noodle, a bowl of noodle is RM1.90

8 ingredients in Tom Yam Gung Lobster Noodle.

List of ingredients you can find in the lobster noodle

  • fresh lobster (it is bigger than my hand)
  • chicken mince cake
  • full boiled egg
  • mushroom
  • thai rice noodle
  • water spinach / kang kung stem
  • squid / sotong
  • 3 mussels
  • delicious tom yum soup based

We prefer the lobster noodle to go with thai rice noodle. Thai rice noodle is more compatible with the lobster soup base. As the noodle may be soak in the bowl for quite some time, glass noodle will loose its’ texture.

Huang Kee Noodle 黄记面 @ Bukit Indah, Johor Bahru

29 November 2014

Mr. Ang brought me to try out his favorite noodle in Bukit Indah area. After I tasted it, I realised that Mr. Ang is really enjoy the char siew (roast pork). In his opinion, wantan mee must go with good char siew.

Ho Seng Kee 何成记 Wantan Mee @ City Square, Johor Bahru

25 August 2015

My family and I were die hard fan of Ho Seng Kee Wantan mee shop. We almost cry out when we saw the old shop at Taman Century was gone. Luckily, my brother saw the restaurant relocate to City Square level. Thus, I brought my colleagues to try out the wantan mee.

I am so glad that the noodle still taste the same. It does not have the alkaline taste. It is very chewy. I strongly recommend all to try out my favorite wantan mee shop.

If you wish to know more on Ho Seng Kee’s history, please read up at Peggy Loh’s blog.

Rice Cooker Lasagna – Ikan Brand

Rice cooker Lasagna by Ikan Brand

[Sponsored by Ikan Brand]

I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job. Because, he will find and easy way to do it.
~ Bill Gate

Rice cooker is a very common electrical appliance in Asean kitchen. During my university campus life, I often use rice cooker to cook spaghetti. The simplest way to cook it is throw spaghetti some cut vegetables and water into the rice cooker. While waiting it to cook, I will either take a bath or do my assignment. When the spaghetti smell hit my nostril, I will just walk over and switch off the rice cooker’s electricity. This is my super lazy way to cook spaghetti. This time, why not utilized rice cooker for lasagna? I took the reference from Aroma Test Kitchen.

Method:
1. Coat the rice cooker with olive oil.
2. Sprinkle some cheese on top of it.
3. Mix the herb spaghetti paste with 1/2 cup of water and cut vegetable
4. Layer with paste and top with lasagna sheets.
5. Sprinkle some cheese over it.
6. Repeat step 4 and 5 until all lasagna sheets finish.
7. Cloe the lid and set it cook.
8. Let cook until the rice cooker beeps.
