MINILAND Amazing Malaysia is the latest attraction at LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort.

Malaysian media were given an exclusive look at LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort’s plans for the brand-new built-to-scale LEGO® Models representing the wonderful landscapes, architecture, and culture of Malaysia from east to west. MINILAND Amazing Malaysia, a model commemorating Malaysia’s diversity in LEGO bricks, is set to open in August 2023 at LEGOLAND Theme Park.

Planting Tree in Legoland

Guests can expect to encounter unique heritage locations such as the cultural ambience in Kota Bahru, Kelantan, the beautiful sceneries of Mulu Caves, Sarawak, and the hustle and bustle of Georgetown, Penang, based on preliminary 3D renderings of MINILAND Amazing Malaysia.

MINILAND Amazing Malaysia will be an interactive experience, featuring 2-player games and action-packed animations spread around the 381m2 dedicated area. Without leaving the resort, guests will be drawn into distinct Malaysian stories and cultural events. Some of these scenes may be reminiscent of their upbringing, such as seeing a stage performance at Jonker Walk, a late-night mamak hangout session, and playing sepak takraw with the neighbourhood kids.

“With so many magnificent sites in Malaysia loaded with incredible architecture, landscapes, culture, and history, it was an obvious option when we were looking to give MINILAND a new area that will WOW our guests.” Guests will be able to get a taste of Malaysian destinations with just one stop at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort thanks to the immersive experiences in MINILAND Amazing Malaysia. “We believe that after seeing Amazing Malaysia, tourists will be motivated to plan their next Malaysian journey, benefiting our economy and the rakyat,” said CS Lim, Divisional Director, LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort.

The new MINILAND Amazing Malaysia is projected to be finished and installed in two months and will require up to 14,000 hours of construction effort. Amazing Malaysia will be constructed using 1.38 million LEGO Bricks and will include 126 built-to-scale LEGO Models of East Malaysia, West Malaysia, and the South China Sea.

“What distinguishes LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort from other LEGOLANDs around the world is how we incorporate local culture into everything we do, making LEGOLAND Malaysia a destination that both local and international guests want to visit again and again.” Many of our investments and one-of-a-kind initiatives are made possible by the Malaysian government’s unwavering support. As a result, Merlin Entertainments is committed to continuing to invest in LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort for many years to come,” said Scott O’Neil, Chief Executive Officer of Merlin Entertainments, at the MINILAND Amazing Malaysia media preview.
