14 April 2023, ISKANDAR PUTERI – This Hari Raya Aidilfitri, guests can balik kampung at the LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort. From 21 April to 21 May, the resort will convert into a typical Malaysian kampung where visitors may take part in activities designed to teach them about Malay culture and enjoy traditional performances.

Visitors can lounge in the Halaman Desa or Anjung Seri at Kampung LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort while sporting their best Raya attire. Younger visitors can also opt to dress in the resort’s selection of batik and songket designs to blend in with the kampung setting. With traditional games like Teng Teng, Chapteh, Congkak, and Batu Seremban available throughout the resort, keeping the family engaged this Raya will be a snap. There will be a Model Citizen who can help you refresh your memory if you forget the game rules, so don’t worry.
The experiences we provide to visitors that draw on Malaysia’s rich multiracial character, culture, and arts, according to LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, are what distinguish us from other theme parks in the area. In order to provide a genuine Hari Raya experience, we have borrowed a strategy from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC) and increased our reliance on our distinctiveness. According to CS Lim, Divisional Director at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, “We invite everyone who is interested in learning about Hari Raya influences and traditions that Malay families practise during this celebration to join us at the resort before 21 May.”

This LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort marketing serves as a fantastic example of how industry participants may contribute to helping to rethink tourism by leaning on our cultural uniqueness in Malaysia. The tourism, environment, heritage, and culture exco for Johor State, YB Tuan Raven Kumar a/l Krishnasamy, said, “We salute LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort for their creativity in driving tourism to Malaysia.
Visitors to the Raya celebrations will enjoy lots of LEGO® magic while learning about Malaysian culture through activities, music, and entertainment that are inspired by the country. The following will also be among the Raya Festival highlights at the LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort:
- Visit SEA LIFE Malaysia and say “ziarah-menziarah” to receive a small treat. Visitors can travel from “Kampung” to “Kampung” in the aquarium to gather stamps and earn a special treat, just like when Malaysians balik kampung. This is meant to represent the Raya custom of paying a visit to families and giving them Duit Raya.
- Visitors to the MINILAND Aidilfitri Hunt can learn about the various styles of Kampung Houses in Malaysia through this educational treasure hunt. Visitors can win a special LEGOLAND Malaysia themed reward by naming all five varieties of Kampung Houses that are found in MINILAND and finding all the LEGO Wau Bulan, Chickens, and Hibiscus Flowers.
- Weekend visitors can participate in Special Raya Activities where they can learn how to weave a ketupat and how batiks are traditionally painted.
- Traditional and contemporary Malay tarian performances will keep guests delighted from the time the resort opens until it closes.
