February 2016 – Lopburi Sunflower Festival, Thailand

The best place to see sunflower fields is Lopburi, a fairly small province in Central Thailand about 2,5 hours drive away from Bangkok, famous for its sunflowers and monkeys. The reason why there are so many fields here is that the local economy develops them for sunflower seeds oil, as well as sunflower seeds for snacks. Before the harvest, the sunflowers create vast yellow fields, being splendid tourist attraction of Lopburi

March 2016 – Kaamulan Festival, Philiphine

April 2016 – Miyako Odori in Kyoto, Japan

Miyokori Odori is one of the Japan’s best Geisha events. It features a number of Maiko and several Geiko from the Gion district of Kyoto. Beyond politics, the dance has seasonal themes with sakura dances. The events has been held in the old Kaburenho Theater ever since 1873.

May 2016 – Royal Ploughing Ceremony, Cambodia

The Royal Ploughing ceremony is a traditional ritual that are often ceremoniously celebrated nationwide, Cambodians are warned of calamities, assured of good harvest and so forth. By observing what feed the royal oxen choose after the Royal Ploughing Ceremony, Cambodians believe that they can predict a range of events including epidemics, floods, good harvests and excessive rainfall.

June 2016 – Boun Bang Fai Festival, Laos

The Boun Bang Fai or Rocket Festival marks the sixth month of the lunar calendar. During the festival, rockets are fired into air to request for good harvest free from drought, floods or pests. Traditionally, rockets are made by stuffing gunpowder into elaborately decorated bamboo. In the recent years, many different materials are used, including glass or metal piping. The size of the rocket may come in variety.

July 2016 – Kota Kinabalu Jazz Festival, Malaysia

Kota Kinabalu Jazz Festival (KKJF) is an annual fund raising jazz extravaganza jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu (RCKK) and the Society of Performing Arts Kota Kinabalu Sabah (SPARKS). The Jazz festival brings together a music melting pot of talents from around the world. KKJF recorded a crowd of over 4,000 people during the two-night performance.
