LEGO® School Challenge 2023: Making Malaysia the World’s Top Destination for Educational and Cultural Exchange

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 May 2023 LEGOLAND School Challenge 2023 powered by Iskandar Investment Berhad returns to LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort in 2023, giving students from elementary through high school another chance to impress with their ingenuity and innovation in LEGO® Model Building. This is the second year of the competition, and for the first time ever, students from Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines can participate.

Greater than 205 classes took advantage of the fun and educational LEGOLAND School Challenge that year. LEGOLAND Malaysia hopes to have more than 400 local school groups take part in the challenge this year.

Teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, and self-confidence are just some of the “soft skills” that students can get through participating in the LEGOLAND School Challenge 2023, sponsored by Iskandar Investment Berhad. The competition has been supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Education (MoE) due to the merits of the programme. Students in Malaysia will be able to take part in the LEGOLAND School Challenge 2023 thanks to funding from the Ministry of Education.

LEGO cities of the future are this year’s subject for the annual challenge. In just a few simple steps, students can enter the competition for a shot at the RM100,000 in rewards that will be awarded.

  • First, from now until May 26th, kids in groups of 5-15 students and 1-3 teachers must register their group on the LEGOLAND School Challenge 2023 website.
  • After signing up, student teams will need to brainstorm ideas and begin construction of their LEGO future cities.
  • Teams are required to include visual documentation (photos, videos, and written descriptions) of their models and designs as part of their final submissions.
  • A group of Master Model Builders from LEGOLAND Malaysia will evaluate all of the entries.
  • A total of ten teams will be chosen as winners across two categories and invited to LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort to receive their prizes. The winning creations will be on display in the resort for an entire month for the enjoyment of guests.
  • Teams that win will not only get to visit LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, but they will also get to participate in an unique LEGO Building workshop with a Master LEGO Builder and participate in some of the resort’s Education Programmes that have been endorsed by the Ministry of Education.
