8:00 am breakfast at home

12:00 noon vegetarian lunch at home

1:15pm depart to Senai – Desaru Express

2:45 pm short traffic congestion after SDE last toll

3:30pm check in Tunamaya Desaru Resort. We get rooms 106 to 108. It is on the ground floor. It is very convenient to access any other facilities in the resort area.

4:00 pm Bring kids to play at the swimming pool

5:30 pm clean up 

6:15 pm we go to Nelayan Seafood by Coast for dinner

7:30 pm As Chen has felt asleep, we postpone our firefly cruise trip

8:00 pm Mr. Ang and I go Bandar Penawar to shop. We are quite surprised to see the huge crowd at SKS mall

10:00pm rest

2 May 2022 Monday

6:30 am wake up for sunrise viewing.

7:15 am breakfast at the hotel

9:30am depart to Desaru Fruit Farm

10:00 am queue up for day trip ticket

11:00 am wait for lunch at Desaru Fruit Farm restaurant

11:40 am 8 dishes of lunch set are served. Free flow of fruits is provided too.

12:30noon Fruit farm tour.

2:30 pm go back resort to rest

4:45 pm play sand by the beach

5:30 pm sister-in-law family orders dinner at Nelayan Seafood by Coast

8:00 pm depart to Restaurant Terapung Sungai Lebam for firefly cruise

8:20 pm firefly viewing

9:15 pm tour around Desaru coast. Window viewing Hard rock hotel and the Westin

10:0pm rest

3 May 2022 Tuesday

7:45 am breakfast at the resort

8:30 am leisure time at swimming pool or beach

11:00 am clean up and packing

11:50 am check out from the resort. Depart to Permas Jaya

2:00 pm stop by Bohdi-Land Vegetarian Restaurant for lunch

4:00 pm reach home and rest

Reflection

After 2 years of pandemic and lockdown, we finally get to travel. We were very excited about our siblings and relatives coming back from Singapore. Initially, we plan to visit Tioman Island. However, around 10 April 2022, all resorts or hotels gave the same feedback. FULLY BOOKED.

Luckily, smooth traffic on our departure and arrival day. When we were traveling in Desaru, we tend to forget to check the time. I still remember that 1 May 2022 night was big chaos at Bandar Penawar. Mr. Ang and I didn’t understand. We just thought it was just Raya’s holiday mood for everyone. On 2 May 2022 morning, I checked Facebook. Only to realize Ramadan fasting has ended early. Thus, everywhere we went was crowded. There was a Chinese proverb, people mountain people sea (人山人海）

Nevertheless, we really have great fun by the beach and swimming pool. All the kids played like no tomorrow. I began to look forward to the next gathering soon.
